Fluid joins Candlelighters Team 500

Throughout Covid-19 Candlelighters has continued giving emotional, financial and practical help to parents, siblings, children and young people.

The charity provides child and adult talking therapies, virtual peer support groups, and a range of wellbeing therapies. Since March they’ve increased their financial grant provision to alleviate the heightened financial pressure their families are facing.

Coronavirus has affected all of us, but for families coping with childhood cancer the emotional, psychological and financial challenges are extreme. With the nation back in lockdown and people’s usual support networks restricted, Candlelighters is there to make sure families don’t face the many uncertainties alone.

Fluid is proud to join Betty’s Cookery School and all of the brilliant Yorkshire businesses in Candlelighters' Team 500.

Fluid was co-founded by two friends, Gareth Murphy and Jonty Abbott, who brought their family values into the business. They wanted to create a place where they could enjoy doing what they love – helping businesses grow with the power of people and technology. And as parents, they wanted to enjoy time with the people they love. They believed it was possible to do both. The company grew on word of mouth and the team grew with people who shared their vision and values. Today Fluid is working across the UK and Europe with its roots embedded in Yorkshire.

They’ve joined Candlelighters Team 500 to support their community. Will Newham, a partner in the business and Fluid Technical Director , knows the importance of Candlelighters’ support. Will is a member of the Kirkburton Uniformed Groups Beer Festival committee. The committee represents the parents and volunteers of the Scout and Girl Guides Groups of Kirkburton in Huddersfield. In 2019 they raised £1000 for Candlelighters, who were supporting one of their scouts through their treatment. Candlelighters has been helping families for more than 40 years and relies solely on the support of the community to continue delivering services.
